1. Explain the composition of biotic and abiotic factors in the environment.
Biotic composition - These components consist of all the living organisms within an ecosystem, for example, plants, animals, birds, insects, etc.
Abiotic composition - These components comprise all the non-living things in an ecosystem, for example, water, air, sunlight, and minerals.
2. What is an ecosystem? Its 3 primary components are?
An ecosystem is a community of living and non-living components which are interdependent on each other.
Its 3 primary components-
- Autotrophs - They are the producers of energy. (Plants)
- Heterotrophs - They are the consumers of energy. (Animals and Humans)
- Non-living - It is soil, sediments, leaf litter, and other organic matter found on the ground or at the bottom of an aquatic system.
3. Some of the factors that cause an imbalance in an ecosystem?
- Overexploitation of Natural Resources
- Habitat Destruction
- Environmental Pollution
- Greenhouse gas emission
- Nuclear weapons
