1. What are the two parts of an E-mail address? Briefly explain each of them. 

Ans. Two parts of an email address are as follows: 

• User name: It is the name of a person's account which can be an actual name or an alphanumeric string. 
• Domain name: It is the location on the person's account on the Internet separated by a period(it is actually the website name of the email service provider). 

For example: In example@gmail.com, (example) is the username, and (gamil.com) is the domain name separated by @ ('at') symbol.

2. Why is E-mail so popular over conventional mails? 

Ans. Email is popular over conventional mail due to the following reasons: 

• The cost of sending an electronic message is less. 
• Messages are sent and received instantly.
• Email never gets lost and do not reach the wrong destination. 
• It allows us to be in touch with the people who are staying far away in no time. 
• It also helps in reducing the wastage of paper.

3. What are the parts of an E-mail? 

Ans. An email has the following parts:

• From- email address of the sender. 
• To- email address of the recipient. 
• Subject- the topic of the message. 
• CC- Cc stands for Carbon Copy. In this field, one can specify the addresses of the person to whom one wants to send a copy of the mail. The e-mail addresses mentioned in this field are visible to all the recipients of the mail.
• BCC- BCC stands for blind carbon copy. It is also used to send a copy of the mail to several people ,but the email addresses mentioned in this field are not visible to other recipients of the mail.    
• Message- The actual content of the email.

4. Discuss the procedure to attach a file to an E-mail message. 

Ans. To attach a file to an email, follow these steps: 

• Click on attach file icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the compose window
• the open dialog box will appear. 
• select the file you would like to attach. 
• Click on the open button. The file gets attached to your mail. Now click on the send button.
